How to use it

  • Upload a square PNG or JPG, ideally 1024 × 1024px, with no rounded corners. Each platform applies its own shape.
  • Check the background colour. It’s picked from your icon’s corner and fills transparent areas on iOS and the Android adaptive background.
  • Look at the Android previews. If the circle cuts off your logo, lower the adaptive icon size.
  • Click Download ZIP and unzip it over your Flutter project’s root folder.

What’s in the zip

  • iOS: ios/Runner/Assets.xcassets/AppIcon.appiconset with all 19 sizes and Contents.json, using the same file names as a new Flutter project.
  • Android: ic_launcher.png for every density from mdpi to xxxhdpi, plus an adaptive icon (foreground image and background colour) for Android 8 and newer.
  • Web: favicon.png and the Icon-192, Icon-512 and maskable icons in web/icons.
  • Play Store: a 512 × 512px icon for Play Console.

This tool or flutter_launcher_icons?

The flutter_launcher_icons package does the same job from the command line, which is handy when you change icons often or build several flavours:

This tool needs no setup and shows you how the icon looks on each platform before you commit to it, which makes it quicker for a one-off icon.

FAQ

Why does iOS need a background colour? The App Store rejects icons with transparent pixels, so transparent areas are filled for you.

Should my image have rounded corners? No. Upload a full square. iOS and Android cut the shape themselves, and pre-rounded corners show up as odd edges.
